Pierre proposes the appointment of Don as an administrator to the Albero committee.

– Gilles and Philippe from Sports Marins B&F for their generous help with the maintenance and storage of the pontoon
– John Siamoutas, Pat Tenneriello and Pierre Ouimet for the maintenance of the barge and pontoon
– Yves Robitaille for the pontoon accommodation for the winter
– Alex Tyrrell for water testing
– Mike Baatz for his advice throughout the season

2025 season review, in numbers:
We had to start late due to the water level.
– 7 outings in total from July 20th to August 17th
– 18 people scuba diving, freediving, kayaking, on the barge
– 31 large bags full of Eurasian watermilfoil
The record days for the quantity of bags of Eurasian watermilfoil collected are:
July 23, 2023 with 8 bags and August 15, 2025 also with 8 bags.

6. Activities for 2026
The main activities of the group:
Eurasian Watermilfoil Removal using a barge and kayaks
– Recruit new volunteers to increase activity
– In particular, at the Beaven/Swails corner
– Form a team (or teams) and we’ll help you get started.
– We are looking for a place to dispose of the seaweed.
– Placement of buoys to delimit areas to be avoided
– The team is available to cover Lac Rond
– Buoys are available to cover Lake Beaven

Surface water test
– We are aiming for two measures: after the rain, and in good weather.
Social activities:
– The annual BBQ is back: B&F Marin Sports is offering to provide the hamburgers.

Progression of Eurasian Watermilfoil
– Moderate progression observed empirically
– Drone mapping project is being studied to accurately and rigorously measure the spread of the milfoil

We will continue to conduct water tests so that we can make a comparison if livestock return to the pastures.
Also, since several families consume water from the lake, it is important that it is as clean as possible.
We have few volunteers at Beaven Lake. The impact is less due to the lake’s depth and the large number of seasonal workers .
Richard London suggests having a table at the Gardeners’ Market and showing what Eurasian watermilfoil looks like. (Check with Janet)
